What should a manufacturer’s website include?

A practical checklist for product information, credibility and buyer enquiries.

Brand Emotions editorial · Updated 2 November 2026

Start with what the buyer needs to decide

A manufacturer’s website should explain what the company makes, which buyers it serves, its relevant capabilities and how to discuss a requirement.

The essential content

  • Clear product families and useful application pages.
  • Accurate dimensions, materials, finishes and customisation information.
  • Capability evidence: processes, facilities and relevant quality documents.
  • Actual project references where permission and evidence exist.
  • Sample, specification or quotation enquiry routes.

Test the handoff

A success message is not proof of delivery. Verify that an enquiry reaches its destination and that someone is responsible for the next action. Track qualified enquiries separately from spam and unrelated messages.

Do not publish unverified specifications

Use approved technical information. When a property or suitability depends on the product batch, installation or application, explain what must be confirmed.
